Rating:
A collection of essays, mostly by
academics, examining the divide between South
Asians and the rest of the Asian American
community. Unfortunately, it appears that none of
the authors have any significant experience working
with the greater Asian American community,
therefore the divide they note seems
self-inflicted.

Liu is a former Clinton adviser and
sometime MSNBC political analyst musing on the
meaning of being Asian American. Second generation
Indian Americans will relate to Liu's identity
crisis while first generation immigrants may come
to understand their children better. Liu's
discussion of the political ramifications of being
Asian American, however, are often meandering and
he offers few conclusions.

Former Reagan adviser
D'Souza espouses his controversial
views on "rational discrimination," questions the
validity of modern multiculturalism and the motives
of civil rights activists and argues that
affirmative action is dividing the
nation.

Surveying 40,000 leaders from

majority of those surveyed. The book offers
insight, anecdotes, as well as suggestions as to

themselves and their teams.

Southwest Airlines, the only
airline to turn a profit annually for the past
thirty years, is unique in an industry known for
losses. They've managed to do this by putting the
customer second, holding arm-wrestling contests
instead of going to court, and planning parties
instead of writing policies. All while offering
customers the lowest ticket prices in the business.
The difference? Leadership. Read this book about
how leadership can drive a team to superior heights
and take home a few lessons yourself.

While many in the Indian American
community voice their desire to become as
influential as the American Jewish community, few
understand it and how it became such a powerful
force in American politics. Goldberg deconstructs
the Jewish community, explaining its history and
motivations offering brilliant insight into the
realities of the organized Jewish
community.

Supposedly, this is the book that
helped Clinton defeat President George Bush in
1992. Dionne makes the argument that Republicans
and Democrats have forced politics to the extremes
while a majority of the electorate sits in the
middle, disgusted with the whole
process.
