IACPA's 10th Anniversary


Greetings from the Guest of Honor
Guest of Honor Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton spent an hour and a half at the benefit gala despite the inclement weather and despite the Senate’s extraordinary debate on judicial nominations which ran for a second night Nov. 13. The Senator also met with a select group of guests, the honorees and board members of Indian American Center of Political Awareness in the Lotus Room of Mandarin Oriental New York.

The Center has so far placed 132 interns with 11 Senators, 46 Congressmen
Indian American Center for Political Awareness (IACPA) provides congressional internships to over 15 college students annually through the Washington Leadership Program (WLP). So far, the Center has placed 132 interns with 11 Senators, 46 Congressmen and eight other offices.

‘An opportunity to gain life-changing experiences’
Neil Kataria, from WLP class of 1998, who is now on the IACPA’s board, spoke of the internship program and the experiences of the students on the Hill and thanked IACPA for the ‘life-changing’ opportunity given to him.

Glimpses of Gala
IACPA President Dr. Bhupendra Patel focused on expansion and required funds for the Center, founding Chairman Gopal Raju envisaged an Indian American think tank, not just to help the community but to be at the forefront of U.S. strategy.
