‘It is a great beginning for our entire community’
I don’t consider it a loss to our community. It was such a close race, and the fact that he ran has changed the whole landscape ---- bringing our comm-unity right in the forefront. Previously it was all about Indians making money well, and now the main-stream is giving us attention and taking us seriously.
It is a great beginning for our entire community, and I am sure for him as well. It has elevated our visibility. People now are looking at us as a political powerhouse as well. I want to praise him for his own efforts and the courage to run for this election.

‘It is important for South Asians to participate’
As a city judge cannot comment on the specifics of a race. I can say however, that we all come from the world’s largest democracy ---- and that the institutions we developed there, would serve us in this country.
It is important for South Asians to participate in the electoral process and our collect-ive voice would be heard. The most important story in all this is that Indians are willing to participate in the electoral process and seek a state’s highest
office.

‘He is a man of high ideals’
He (Jindal) has gone up in my esteem and respect because he did not get involved in the negative campaigning. He is a man of high ideals.
If everyone was like Bobby Jindal as far as campaign policies are concerned, the country would be better off.
