     Voter Registration Information

Places Where You Can Go to Get Registered

    1. Voters Registration Office
    2. Bureau of Motor Vehicles
    3. Public Library
    4. Township Trustees Offices.
    5. There are also registration forms available in your IRS tax booklets.

    You Must Transfer Your Registration

  • Anytime you move from one residence to another
  • Anytime you have a change of name

To process a registration for a change of name, we need any former name you have been registered under and former addresses. If you have previously been registered and have your registration card, you can complete the back of the registration card and return it to our office.
We are unable to process your registration without your address. A post office box is not a valid address.

Once we have processed your registration you should receive a new card within 10 working days. If you discover any errors, please contact .

When can I register to vote?

You can register if you will be 18 years of age on the date of the next election (which means you can register when you're 17 as long as your 18th birthday is before the second Tuesday in November).

Do I have to pick a party to be a member of when I register?

No. In Indiana, voters do no affiliate themselves with a party when they register.

How do I know if my registration was processed in time?

Voter applicants are mailed postcard-sized acknowledgment notices listing precinct and voting districts. The notices are used to verify address. Cards returned as undeliverable are pulled from the active file.
