Congressman Gregory Meeks (D-N.Y) will lead a four-member delegation comprising Assemblyman Brian McLaughlin, N.Y. State Senator Malcolm Smith, Assemblyman Tom Alfano, and Uma Sengupta, District Leader of the 25th Assembly District, to India on Jan. 2, according to a press release. The delegation will also be visiting Bangladesh.
“Trips to both countries will all-ow me to meet with both political and business leaders to focus on issues such as the global war on terrorism, economic development, and ways to strengthen the growing relationship between our communities in New York and abroad,” Meeks said of the visit. The delegation will be visiting New Delhi, Bangalore, Agra and Kolkata in India, and Dhaka in Bangaldesh, the press release said.
