Letter from Council of Khalistan predicted hung Parliament

Rep. Towns (D-NY)
Manmohan Singh
May 11 –– Rep. Edolphus Towns (D-NY), in a speech on the House Floor, noted the Indian elections might result in a Hung Parliament.

He read from a letter sent by the self-proclaimed Council of Khalistan, a U.S.-based organization founded by Gurmeet Singh Aulakh, to regional parties in India that urged them to band together for self-determination of all minorities in South Asia.

It is hard to fault Rep. Towns for not considering the possibility that former Finance Minister Manmohan Singh, a Sikh, would become the new Prime Minister of India.
