Duty on chemicals from India

June 3 –– The Import Administration of the International Trade Administration, at the Commerce Department announced it was postponing determining the preliminary countervailing duty on bottle-grade polyethylene terephthalate resin from India and Thailand. In effect, it extending the time limit for the preliminary determinations in the countervailing duty investigations of the above named product.

On April 13, 2004, the department initiated the countervailing duty investigations of BG PET Resin from India and Thailand. On May 21, 2004, the United States PET Resin Producers Coalition requested postponement of the preliminary determinations to allow time for the department to conduct full and complete investigations of the programs until no later than Aug. 23.
