Electrolux outsources part of U.S. call center to India

Electrolux AB joined the list of Western companies outsourcing back-office services to India, announcing plans to route calls from U.S.-based customers to its call center in New Delhi, The Wall Street Journal reported. As part of the outsourcing program, some of the Swedish consumer-products maker’s call-center operations in the U.S., based in Georgia, will be moved to India. Electrolux’s call center in India will be operating in the third quarter. The move is part of Electrolux’s outsourcing program, which entails the farming out of technology and software-support services to India’s Patni Computer Systems Ltd., the report said.
