CAUSE organizes voter registration campaign

As the November presidential elections draw closer, voter registration campaigns have also gained momentum. One such campaign is led by the Center for Asian Americans United for Self Empowerment (CAUSE).

As part of the effort CAUSE registered voters at the popular 6th Annual Angelus Plaza Senior Talent Show on Aug. 26 in Los Angeles.

In partnership with the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s (LA RR/CC) office, CAUSE’s bilingual staff and volunteers provided voter training to senior talent show attendees, which include InkaVote voting device demonstrations and instructions on how to fill out an absentee ballot. Multilingual voter information brochures will be available in all mandated languages.

According to the LA RR/CC, absentee ballots in past elections have been mailed in with holes punched through, because many citizens have been used to voting using the now obsolete “punch-card” voting system.

CAUSE focuses on helping citizens, especially Asian Americans, on voter registration, information and elections procedures. CAUSE can be reached at .
