‘The National Immigration Forum’ in support of immigration reforms

Sept. 21 –– Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) led the discussion at The National Immigration Forum in support of immigration reforms legislation on the Hill. Others on the panel included Karen Narasaki of the National Asian Pacific American Legal Consortium, and Cecilia Munoz of the National Council of La Raza. The meeting that was held in the Cannon House Office.

Rep. Lewis spoke about the need to fix the “broken” immigration system and how the struggle for equal rights and justice continues. He was joined by about 100 immigrants and advocates, as well as members of the religious and labor movements, who have been urging Congress to make immigration reform and fair treatment of immigrants a priority.
