Asian Americans organize rally in N.J. for Kerry-Edwards ticket

Asian Americans organized a rally in Edison, New Jersey, on Oct. 14 to support the Kerry-Edwards ticket.

The rally was organized by the Rainbow Group at the residence of Kerry-Edwards supporter Anil Patel. Congressman Mike Honda (D-CA) was the chief guest and among the present were New Jersey

Assemblyman Upendra Chivukula, Edison Councilman Parag Patel, Steeve Brozac, who is running for Congress from

15th District in NJ, and Efren Dato,

who is running for Sheriff of Somerset County.

Chivukulla urged the Asian-American community to get involved in the political process and highlight issues of concern to them. Parag Patel pointed out that Indian Americans constituted 20 percent of the population in Edison.
