Green Oscars for 3 Indian films

Mike Pandey
Well-known wildlife filmmaker Mike Pandey won his third Wildscreen Panda Award, also known as the Green Oscars, at the Wildscreen International Wildlife Film Festival in Bristol on Oct. 14.

Pandey’s ‘Vanishing Giants’ was adjudged the best wildlife film among 400 entries in the news feature category. Two other Indian films that won the prestigious awards this year were ‘The 18th Elephant’ by ANMPU Media Trust in the TVE category and ‘The Policing Langur’ by Ajay Bedi in the Newcomer category. ‘Vanishing Giants’ seeks an end to brutal methods to capture elephants and calls for stringent policies to protect the endangered species.
