Prediction 2004
3 of 4 leading Indian astrologers predict Kerry victory
This election is seen by voters as one of the most important ones in U.S. history. This race is as tight as the 2000 race was. It is customary in India for astrologers to predict election results. They are meticulously charting the position of the planets and studying the horoscopes of the incumbent and the challenger. Four leading astrologers with a viable record of predictions ––- Pandit Ajai Bhambi, Lachhman Das Madan, S.R. Krishnamurti and Pandit Uma Shankar Shukla ––- predict the outcome of Election 2004. And the stars seem to favor the Democratic challenger Kerry. Three astrologers say he will win, while one has doubts.

‘Kerry will not only have an edge, but is likely to defeat Bush in the final verdict’

Bush’s horoscope is what I call marginal –– he did not win the last elections convincingly. As one American analyst put it, Bush was duly sworn-in President, but not duly elected.
His horoscope has Saturn, Venus and Mercury. They are all placed in the Cancer lagna and all of them are placed uncomfortably, which is why his election in 2000 and his tenure have been controversial. These three planets are inimical to the Cancer lagna and create problems from time to time. However, there is in his horoscope an extremely powerful yog (combination) called Gajakesari which gives immense power and which helped him occupy the highest office in the world.
Kerry, on the other hand, was born in Scorpio ascendant and has the Sun is placed in it. Mars and Moon have occupied the Taurus lagna and all the planets are mutually complementary. This whole configuration definitely makes for a charismatic leader. A strong Jupiter is visible in his 10th house, which has everything to do with power and authority. This Jupiter indicates that he will be powerful –– that is, he has a great chance of becoming President.
In his horoscope, the Lord of the 10th is placed in the ascendent and is mutually complementary with the Lord of lagna, Mars; and the Moon in the 7th house makes the horoscope extremely powerful. The Sun is a royal planet and total configuration of these planets indicate that the highest seat could come to him.
In my understanding Kerry will not only have an edge over his rival, but is likely to defeat Bush in the final verdict.
(A law graduate with a master’s in economics, Pandit Bhambi is a Delhi-based astrologer with a widely-read column published in several leading publications. He predicted the death of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi and the fall of the governments of prime ministers H.D. Deve Gowda, I.K. Gujral and P.V. Narasimha Rao.)

‘I reveal the cosmic writ: Bush cannot become President of the U.S. again’

For months, opinion polls have shown the race between George W. Bush and Sen. John Kerry to be neck-and-neck.
In this context, I reveal the cosmic writ: George W. Bush cannot become President of the United States again. Here is why:
The Sun and Saturn combination around the same degree in the ascendent caused him an injury in the first month of his 59th year commencing from July 6, 2004.
In the annual chart of Bush, the third Lord, Sun, in the ascendant has eclipsed the Saturn, the Lord of health and fortune, which will prove unfortunate and give Bush a clear defeat in the elections. The seventh Lord representing the opponent has its own Lord Jupiter, which assures clear success to John Kerry, who will become the next President.
Bush’s bad times are not yet over. He should take care of his health –– health problems cannot be ruled out in coming months.
In John Kerry’s horoscope, the transiting Jupiter from the 5th house from natal Moon is highly auspicious in the Rashi chart. The transiting Saturn will be in the third house from natal Moon. This will also be highly favorable for the Senator.
The sub-period of Mercury in the main period of Mercury is in operation. In the Dasamsa chart, Mercury and Mars –– owning the 5th and 3rd houses –– have exchanged houses. Success in competition is certain for Sen. Kerry.
(A well-known astrologer and editor of the astrological magazine ‘Babaji,’ launched in 1980, Madan claims to have made several correct predictions, including the Sept. 11 terror attacks in the U.S. His prediction that neither Atal Bihari Vajpayee nor Sonia Gandhi would become prime minister after this year’s general elections has given his credibility a boost. Madan, 80, says he is consulted by several prominent political figures.)
Dr. S.R. Krishnamurti
‘John Kerry definitely has great Raja Yoga; he will
be the next President’

The configuration of planets, which was not favorable for Senator Kerry for the past five-six months, is now falling in place for him. The Sun –– the goodwill planet –– is supporting Kerry and the Moon –– the ruling planet –– is also in Kerry’s favor. He definitely has a very great Raja Yoga –– and he will be the next President.
Venus and Mercury are calling for a tremendous change in the political set-up of the U.S. Another important planet, Mars, is adding to Kerry’s personality.
America is going to vote for Kerry and as various planets position themselves, there won’t be any surprise if he wins by a margin of over 100,000 votes.
Now for Bush. Stars are painting a different picture for him. Saturn as well as Jupiter are pulling him down and Rahu –– the envy planet –– is also disturbing him to a great extent. Another important planet –– Ketu –– is also posing problems for Bush –– for his past actions in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. The beneficial planets are weakening for Bush, while they are strong in the case of Sen. Kerry. Whatever is disturbing Bush is favoring Kerry.
The aftereffects of Kerry’s win would prove highly beneficial to the U.S., as this will also bring peace in the rest of the world. The Middle East, Afghanistan and the South Asian subcontinent will have a congenial atmosphere.
India-U.S. relations will improve significantly. An economically strong, terrorism-free Washington will help build an economically strong, terrorism-free New Delhi.
(A clairvoyant and a mystic, Krishnamurti has predicted the results of three U.S. presidents –– Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. A Ph.D. in philosophy and a professor, he has also predicted the 1971 India-Pakistan war, P.V. Narasimha Rao’s victory and the Gulf War, among others events.)

‘Major planets do not appear to be strong enough to ensure Kerry a tenure as President’

President Bush is born under the Cancer lagna and its Lord Moon is placed in the 3rd house along with Jupiter, which amounts to what is called the GajKesri Yoga. This is the best Raja Yoga in vedic astrology. His 10th house Lord is placed in the 2nd house, and Saturn is in his 10th house. In the Lagna Chart, Jupiter becomes the Lord of the 9th house –– a house of fate and fortune –– and the 6th house of diseases, debt and enemies. Jupiter is placed in the 3rd house in Virgo along with the Moon.
This particular planetary sequence will last till June 16, 2005. From the Lagna Chart, this particular dasha looks promising as Jupiter, being the 9th Lord, promises some kind of recognition on the world stage. Jupiter’s transit in his Moon sign of Virgo promises success.
In the case of Kerry, the Jupiterian influence is noticeable. And the Sun also impacts on the 10th house from exalted Moon. Jupiter, of course, is complemented by Mars and Saturn.
What is, however, least appealing in Kerry’s horoscope is the presence of Saturn in the eighth house aspected by the eighth and the 11th Lord, Mercury. It does promise an element of surprise, but it does not appear to be strong enough to ensure Kerry a tenure as President.
The transit of Saturn, which becomes crucial on such occasions, is weak in sarvastaka with only 24 positive points.
The Vimshottari dasha at the time of election of Mercury, the eighth lord, has done the favor of bringing him into the limelight. But it does not appear to be a case strong enough to ensure victory.
Bush thus seems to be making a strong bid for a second term.
(Pandit Shukla, who began his career in 1995, writes in various publications and is credited with a 70 percent success rate. He is also involved with astro-research.)
