Uma Bharati apologizes to Advani

Indo-Asian News Service

Uma Bharati
New Delhi : Suspended Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Uma Bharati on Dec. 2 made up with party president L.K. Advani by tendering an unconditional apology for her “unruly” conduct during a meeting last month.

Bharati, the former Madhya Pradesh chief minister, called on Advani at his residence and handed over a letter apologizing for walking out of the meeting which was being aired live on television. “I met Advani and handed over an apology letter for what happened on Nov. 10,” she told reporters after the meeting. It was not clear whether Advani had revoked the suspension order served on her following the public spat, though he had indicated at the BJP’s Ranchi national executive that he would sort out differences with Uma Bharati.
