Nearly 50 years after Saund, Bobby Jindal makes history

Media Excerpts The 2004 Election hid nuggets of great potential value to conservatives and to Americans which did not show up in the big picture.... Perhaps most intriguing, however, is the new Congressman Jindal from Louisiana. He is the most prominent political figure in either political party from India, the largest democracy on the planet. Jindal is a brilliant, principled conservative Republican. If Republicans are smart, Bobby Jindal will move quickly up the House hierarchy....
....Having one of the most powerful political figures in America a conservative Republican of Indian descent could be an enormous symbolic gesture toward an American-Indian concordance that peaceful competition, not terrorism and war, should be the model for geopolitical relationships....
––– Bruce Walker in Men’s News Daily, Guerneville, CA.
Louisiana’s cayenne-laced politics are seldom dull. But this fall, with anSenate seat, threeHouse seats and a congressman’s last-minute party switch that sparked a lawsuit, they are spicier than usual. ....The least-suspenseful race is in Vitter’s 1st Congressional District, a Republican bastion in New Orleans’ affluent suburbs. Bobby Jindal, 33, a Rhodes scholar and administrative wunderkind who lost a close race for the governorship last fall, is considered a shoo-in. If elected, he would be the first congressman of Indian descent since 1963.
––– Robert Buckman in Washington Times
....in District 1, which includes Washington Parish, Bobby Jindal is in first with students for the House of Representatives, with a total of 28 percent of the vote. Jindal is closely followed by Roy Armstrong, with 23 percent of the vote.
–– Eleanor Evans in The Daily News

IN BOBBY JINDAL’S OWN WORDS

Thank You Louisiana!

Together we did it! Thank you for the countless hours of dedication, the sacrifices you have made, and the honor you have given me in this Election.

Your support will never be forgotten and my family and I are truly grateful for your support.

Most sincerely,

Bobby.
