On Dec. 26, members of Science of Spirituality gathered in the Chicago area from across the world at the Oakbrook Marriott for a week-long spiritual retreat with His Holiness Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj, the spiritual head of the organization.

The Science of Spirituality Young Adults group were moved by the scope of the tsunami disaster and within three days collected over $61,000, said a press release.

Dr. Rimjhim Duggal, who spearheaded the effort said, “this disaster directly affected three of my friends and their families who lost their lives and homes. I was touched by their circumstances.
