On Dec. 28, Edison Mayor George A. Spadoro and the local representatives of the American Red Cross and the BAPS Care International made an announcement to coordinate Edison local donations to the disaster relief efforts for tsunami victims.
Several major Edison-based companies have pledged donations to both organizations for their disaster relief efforts throughout the Southern Asia regions most affected by this disaster. Most significantly, Issac Heller, chairman of Heller Industries, made a combined donation of $50,000 to the two organizations to aid relief efforts, said a press release.
