Shawn Bhagat is selected ‘Citizen of the Year 2004’

Shawn Bhagat of American Oil and Fuel Distribution has been selected by the Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce as its ‘Citizen of the Year for 2004’ for his outstanding service to the community. Bhagat was scheduled to receive the honor at the annual awards and membership appreciation banquet scheduled to be held in Dallas, TX, on Jan. 21.

“Immigrant Americans should develop a sense of belonging, a feeling within us that this is my home and this is my country,” Bhagat was quoted in a press release.

He added that he is inspired by Prophet Muhammad who set the example of good citizenship early on in life.

President of Carrollton-Farmers Branch Rotary Club, he has been the recipient of the Ethics Awards given by Carrollton-Farmers Branch Rotary Club and Rotary District 5810.

Bhagat lives in Highland Village with his wife Nafisa and children Anishta, Shermin and AlyKhan.
