Basati to run for Township Clerk in Palatine, Illinois


Thakar Singh Basati
Longtime resident and community activist Thakar Singh Basati will run for the post of Clerk of Palatine Township, a northwestern suburban area of metropolitan Chicago, the election for which is scheduled for April 5, a press release said.

Announcing his decision to contest the election in anCommunity Forum at the Palatine Gurdwara on Jan. 23, Basati, real estate agent and part time radiology technologist at local hospitals, was quoted in the release as saying: “I am asking for support from all communities, and would encourage my supporters to form some volunteer committees to move the campaign forward full throttle to victory on April 5.” Basati is a former president of Punjabi Cultural Society of Chicago and coordinator for Asian American Seniors Association.
