U.S. participation in air show
Indo-Asian News Service
New Delhi : The U.S. military was scheduled to showcase its hi-tech military hardware at the air show in Bangalore Feb. 9-13, demonstrating its desire to become a major arms supplier to India.
“Various models of U.S. military aircraft are scheduled for static displays, including the P-3C Orion, the KC-135 Stratotanker, the F15-E Strike Eagle and the C-130J Hercules,” a U.S. Embassy statement said here on Feb. 2.
Some 51 aircrew and support personnel from four bases including the Misawa and Kadena airbases in Japan would attend the Aero Indian International air show, South Asia’s premier aerospace exhibition.
The participation of U.S. military aircraft and U.S. defense contractors represents Washington's desire to become a major arms supplier to the Indian armed forces, the statement said. U.S. military personnel would provide aircrew, maintenance and administrative support services for U.S. aircraft at the show. The Department of Defense would also have a hi-tech static display.
