Ashok Waran is appointed SupportSoft’s Vice President for India

SupportSoft, Inc., a Silicon Valley-based leading provider of ‘Real-Time Service Management’ (RTSM) software, announced the appointment of Ashok Waran as vice president of engineering and services for SupportSoft India.

Waran will be responsible for all product development, professional services delivery, quality assurance and customer support activities in India, a company announcement said.

Till recently senior director of Oracle’s India operations, responsible for providing consulting services to its North American customers, Waran has over 22 years’ experience in the software industry in India and has worked on firmware, operating systems, real-time systems, image processing, and distributed enterprise systems. He holds an engineering degree in electronics and communications from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and an MBA from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad.

Prior to joining Oracle, he was director of Enterprise Solutions at Hewlett Packard Services, India Software Operations (HPS-ISO), which offers software services to HP and its customers globally. Waran was employed by HP for 10 years, during which time he managed projects and programs pertaining to HP’s Unix operating systems, software products and large enterprise solutions. Before joining HP, Waran managed real-time and systems software projects at Wipro.

“Ashok is a highly-respected executive within India’s software industry,” Cadir Lee, SupportSoft’s vice president of engineering, said.

“He has proven experience working with some of the country’s most innovative technology companies. His market perspective can be of enormous benefit to SupportSoft and our customers. Ashok is remarkably qualified to drive enhancements in all of these areas,” he said.

RTSM is designed to ease enterprise technical support, provide for IT endpoint automation and enable triple play service automation for VoIP, video or broadband delivery by service providers to their customers.
