New instructional video games to target net-savvy youngsters
Stop Fluin Around,’ a new instructional video game, may not have the raciness of regular video games that children play, but its message is crucial for its target audience. According to The New York Times, the video game, which is one of a dozens of such instructional online games, has been developed by public interest groups including the Partnership for Food Safety Education. “When can the flu hide?” is one of the questions asked on the game. The answer is: on hands which were not washed. The purpose behind the instructional video is to target a generation of net-savvy youngsters. There are other instructional videos such as Eco Quest, Stop Whaling, Unicef World Heroes, and Smokeout Café.
