M.K. Narayanan is new Special Adviser to PM

M.K. Narayanan, a former Intelligence Bureau chief, was on May 29 named special adviser to the prime minister and will interface with forces and government agencies dealing with internal security threats.
The seasoned intelligence operative, who has served as adviser to four prime ministers, will have to assist the government in tackling a wide array of challenges, ranging from the lingering Kashmir problem to the growing threat posed by Maoist rebels.
