Jai Singh, CNET News.com editor, wins National Magazine Award

The National Magazine Awards, which are the most prestigious prizes in the magazine journalism in the U.S., were announced last week, and CNET News.com founder as well as editor-in-chief Jai Singh won the prestigious National Magazine Award in the General Excellence Online category, according to a press release.
Newsweek editor Fareed Zakaria also had reasons to cheer because the magazine won the award in the General Excellence category.
Apart from Singh and Zakaria, there were two other finalists of South Asian origin in the race for the awards. They were Manjeet Kripalani of BusinessWeek and Dr. Vinay K. Jain, editor-in-chief of Cure.
