The National Council of Pakistani American (NCPA) Web site reported that Pakistani American Hanif Akhtar was appointed as member of the U.S. President’s National Hire Veterans Committee.
The appointment was annou-nced by the U.S. Secretary of Labor and he would be sworn in at a formal ceremony on Feb. 19, the NCPA Web site said. Akhtar is a businessman and a Pakistani-American community leader, and also the president of Pakistan American Business Association.
