Immigration has always played a strong part of America’s history, from the time the Pilgrims first landed in America to the waves of Indian computer programmers now entering the United States.

It is a complex and often divisive issue; immigrants are often scapegoated for the nation’s problems - from stealing jobs from Americans to using up our nation's welfare and other public resources.

This portal should give you a better understanding of immigration and the role it plays in our society.
